2007
Fresh from the unimagined success
in its first year, Peace with Earth 2007
is a
collaboration between Fifteen Melbourne & Oliveria.
The world
renowned celebrity chef , Jamie Oliver, opened his first Fifteen
Restaurant in
Hoxton, London in 2002. In altruistic style, he banded together
a group of 15
teenagers with disadvantaged backgrounds and set about
turning their
lives around by teaching them culinary skills and transforming
them into
professional chefs. The success and motivation of Fifteen was
cemented and new
Fifteen restaurants opened in Amsterdam and Cornwall.
The latest
Fifteen restaurant was opened in Melbourne, Australia in
September, 2006.
Executive head chef Tobie Puttock, Jamie's old mate and
Australian
connection, leads a team of young Australians that have found
themselves
excluded. Fifteen gives these young people a life opportunity
and inspires
them to believe in their abilities.
Hence, the Peace
with Earth 2007 design displays a bushland setting of
Australian
native flowers - distinct and symbolic.
Each is like an
individual with an immense ability to grow...
This design is
the artistic vision of Gareth Dotchin & the team at Empire
Creative,
Melbourne.
Profits from the
Fifteen Melbourne restaurant as well as a percentage of sales
from each 2007
edition Peace with Earth decanter go to Fifteen Foundation
Australia. This
foundation aims to provide these young people with the
working
environment in which to expand their knowledge and practical
experience.
